INTERVIEW TIPS

Preparation is critical and will greatly enhance your chances!

  • Your consultant will have provided you with a detailed job description, along with an understanding of the company, position and environment. If you have any queries, please make sure you contact your consultant.
  • Ensure that you are thoroughly prepared as this will signal to the interviewer that you are both committed and interested in the position.
  • Demonstrating knowledge about the company provides the interviewer with evidence that you are enthusiastic about the position. Some simple means of gaining this information are through the company website or speaking to people you know at the company.
  • Research the job you are applying for. Make sure you have read and understood the specification and how it relates to your skills and experience.
  • First impressions do count. Always make sure you are smartly dressed, if you are unsure of the company dress code, please ask Teamwork Selection before your interview.
  • Leave plenty of time to get to your interview. Arriving late looks unprofessional and may ruin your chances before you start.
  • Check the time, date and location of the interview and name of interviewer(s) where appropriate. Keep the phone number of the company and/or Teamwork Selection handy so if problems arise you can call.
  • Do not go to the interview laden down with baggage - take the bare minimum of belongings necessary.
  • Do not wear strong perfume or aftershave, it may not be a favourite of the interviewers!
  • Clean your shoes!
